Resources

Resources for the Compassion Cultivation Training class include a recorded guided meditation for each week, weekly supplementary lectures and readings on the science of compassion by a renowned psychology or neuroscience researcher, videos, supplementary reference materials, and support in starting and maintaining regular meditation practice.

CCT Research

Preliminary research suggests that CCT can improve compassion for oneself, for others, and being the recipient of compassion (Jazaieri et al., 2013). Furthermore, CCT has been shown to improve affect, emotion regulation, and mindfulness (Jazaieri et al., 2014), increase feelings of calm and acceptance (Jazaieri et al., 2017), and reduce some forms of mind wandering while increasing caring behaviors for oneself and others (Jazaieri et al., 2016).

CCT teachings are appropriate for health care professionals as well as the general public. Health care professionals will be able to incorporate the tools and practices offered in this program in ways beneficial to clients or patients.
